A Shift

shift - (transitive verb)
to exchange for or replace by another : change

I find myself pondering over my life and I ask the question why am I in the same position year after year. A position of lack of fulfillment.  No matter how I have attempted to find every excuse and justification that blames everyone and everything else but me.  However, no matter what reasons or justifications I tell myself the truth is I am that reason. The only reason. My inability to take responsibility for my own life. I cannot expect anyone or anything to be more responsible for MY life than me. It is easier to blame others or events for why things have turned out the way they have but, the truth is I am to blame for the direction that my life has taken. It is not anyone else’s responsibility to rescue me but me.

Often I  pretend to have take action towards better a life.  When in reality I was just going through the motions never really making any progress and it was demonstrated in the fact that my life remained the same. True action is demonstrated in the evidence of movement. Nothing moves and ever remains the same. Like a river the water is continuously changing. It is virtually impossible to actually be moving and not see change.  In order to experience movement in my life I had to first recognize that I was not moving forward and take responsibility for my life and the experiences that have taken place up to this point. It was also imperative that I understood that no one is coming on a white horse to rescue me. I am the answer that I seek that will change my circumstances. It is me and only me. So I asked myself why don’t I trust me to be the answer for “my life”? Why do I feel I am incapable of creating a better life for me?  It sounded so crazy to hear these question. This meant that I trusted someone else with my dreams and desires.

It was apparent that I had placed trust in everyone but me. What was causing me to  believe that someone else would be a better creator for my life. Yes I've made some mistakes over the years and those mistakes were the reason I lacked trust in me. This broken trust caused me to stop believing in me and my ability to govern my own life and that others needed to govern my life for me because they know what is best for me and I did not.  That is a faulty belief system that is built on the lies that I have told myself over time. Does not true belief start in believing in self. How can I truly believe in someone else if I was unable to believe in me. I lack the confidence in me to move my life forward. Now that I have said it, I recognize the challenge.

Recognizing this truth while sweeping it under a rug and telling myself the same old lies, is not what I desire to do.  I want to take complete and full responsibility and participate in the creation of my own life. Lord God what do I do? How do I come to this place and not leave the same?  I begin to ask myself a series of question. How do I participate in the creation of my own life? What does my life currently look like? What was I placed here to do? What does that life look like? How do I create that life? What am I doing in that life? Who is that life spent with?  It is time to confront myself and change my beliefs.

What can I do to build that confidence in me? I've elected to borrow the beliefs of those who believe in me. Those that have told me how great I am and what a blessing I am to their lives. The use of their beliefs about me over time will enable me to create and develop my own beliefs and self-confidence.  Over time I will begin to see myself as they see me and be the answer for my life. I will produce effective movement and that will be evident in the change that will take place in my life.

Metamorphosis

Met-a-mor-pho-sis is a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism. As from a caterpillar to pupa to the adult Butterfly.

I define metamorphosis as the magical transformation in a woman’s evolutionary growth and development. As women our lives are forced to evolve faster than we often have time for. We go from being daughter, sister, mother, wife, lover and so many other roles. These forced changes can cause use to lose focus of who we are bringing about the feeling as though your losing your mind and your sense of self.  We begin to question our self-image. This is the image of how ere see ourselves. When you operate in so many roles your self-image is questioned, you are unsure of who to be at any given time. The roles began to overlap and when you’re supposed to be a mother you may find yourself being a sister. This can cause some challenges in your life, especially if you are unable to see that you’re not being who are to be.
As a women in her mid-forties I find myself in a unique position in my evolution. I want to share my life’s transformation with you with the expressed hope to support others as they find themselves transforming.

This blog is dedicated to taking a look at the various images. In addition address the things that are taboo (age, sex, marriage, death, divorce, children, and career).
